On 9th May 2026, the community of King’ero Kwa Chief in Kabete Sub-County, Kiambu County, came together for a powerful and impactful outreach event themed “Breaking Chains of Addiction.” The event was organized by Remnants Royal Family with the aim of addressing the growing challenge of substance abuse, supporting recovery journeys, and restoring hope within the community.
The outreach brought together different organizations, wellness professionals, counsellors, and community stakeholders who shared one common goal, helping individuals and families affected by addiction and mental health challenges. The event attracted community members from different parts of Kabete and its surroundings, creating a platform for awareness, healing, counselling, testing, mentorship, and emotional support.
REMNANTS ROYAL FAMILY

As the lead organizer of the outreach, Remnants Royal Family played a central role in mobilizing the community and coordinating the activities of the day. Guided by their message “Hope in Action, Love in Motion,” the organization demonstrated commitment towards transforming lives through community empowerment and recovery support initiatives.
The organization successfully brought together different partners and stakeholders to ensure the outreach addressed not only addiction recovery but also emotional wellness, healthcare access, mentorship, and community engagement. Through motivational talks, prayer sessions, and emotional support activities, Remnants Royal Family encouraged individuals struggling with substance abuse to seek help and begin their recovery journey.
The event also featured entertainment and motivational appearances that helped create a welcoming and encouraging environment for attendees. Families of affected individuals were equally empowered with information and guidance on how to support their loved ones battling addiction.
DOVE INTERNATIONAL WELLNESS CENTRE

Dove International Team
Dove International Wellness Centre was one of the key partners during the outreach and played a major role in providing professional counselling and wellness support services to members of the community. The Dove team engaged individuals and families through one-on-one counselling sessions, psychosocial support, mental health awareness, addiction counselling, and emotional wellness education.
The organization also showcased the wide range of wellness services they offer through Dove International Wellness Centre. Community members had an opportunity to learn more about mental health care, therapy services, rehabilitation support, psychological assessments, family counselling, trauma healing, and wellness programs available at the centre.
Dove professionals emphasized the importance of addressing mental health issues linked to substance abuse, stress, trauma, depression, and anxiety. Many individuals who attended the event benefited from counselling sessions and referrals for continued support and rehabilitation services.
The outreach further highlighted Dove’s commitment to community wellness and preventive mental healthcare through partnerships and grassroots engagement. Their presence greatly contributed to the emotional and psychological support offered during the event.
National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) also participated actively in the outreach by creating awareness on the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse. NACADA representatives educated community members on the effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society at large.
The team provided educational materials, addiction prevention information, and recovery guidance aimed at helping people understand the importance of early intervention and seeking professional help. Their participation strengthened the educational aspect of the outreach and empowered attendees with practical information on substance abuse prevention and management.
NACADA’s involvement demonstrated the importance of collaborative efforts between government agencies, wellness organizations, and the community in addressing addiction challenges affecting many families today.

Wonderpeace Team
Wonderpeace Wellness partnered in the outreach by offering counselling, emotional support, and wellness services similar to those provided by Dove International Wellness Centre. Their team worked closely with community members by listening to personal struggles, offering guidance, and encouraging individuals to pursue recovery and healing.
The organization emphasized the importance of peace, emotional balance, and wellness in overcoming addiction and rebuilding lives. Their contribution added significant value to the outreach by ensuring that attendees had access to diverse professional wellness support systems.
Through their engagement, many participants gained encouragement and practical coping strategies for dealing with stress, trauma, addiction, and emotional challenges affecting their daily lives.
Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA) also came through in support of the outreach initiative. Their participation reinforced the importance of professional counselling and psychological support in addiction recovery and mental wellness.
KCPA representatives engaged with attendees by promoting mental health awareness and the role of professional counsellors and psychologists in helping individuals navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. Their presence further strengthened the professional support network available during the outreach.
The association’s support showcased the growing need for accessible counselling services within communities and the importance of reducing stigma surrounding mental health and addiction treatment.
Sigisia contributed significantly by providing the public address system that facilitated smooth communication and coordination throughout the event. The sound system played a crucial role in ensuring that announcements, educational sessions, motivational talks, entertainment, and counselling programs reached all attendees effectively.
Their support enhanced the overall success and organization of the outreach, enabling the program to run efficiently and maintain engagement among participants throughout the day.

The Glam barbarshop
GLAM Barbershop added a unique and impactful touch to the outreach by offering free grooming services to members of the community. The team provided free haircuts and shaving services to local residents, helping restore confidence and dignity among attendees.
The grooming activities created excitement and encouraged more community participation, especially among young people. Beyond appearance, the initiative symbolized care, restoration, and the importance of self-worth during the recovery journey.
Additional Services Offered
Apart from counselling and wellness services, the outreach also provided several essential clinical and support services to the community. These included Tuberculosis (TB) testing, Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing, Blood Pressure (BP) testing, HIV testing, drugs assessment, and medical referrals.
Motivational recovery talks, prayer sessions, emotional support, family guidance, and recovery information were also provided throughout the event. Attendees further enjoyed games, live performances, entertainment sessions, and interactive activities aimed at promoting positive living and community connection.
